LGC welcomes new coach & installs club fitting centre & simulator studio

Liverpool Golf Centre & Driving Range is continuing is expansion and is cementing its reputation as one of the North West’s premier golf practice facilities after taking on a third PGA professional and launching a new club fitting centre.

Sean Bailey a highly experienced and qualified coach has joined Liverpool Golf Centre having begun his career working for the Italian Golf Federation before returning to the UK to work with European Tour Coach Scott Cranfield.

He then spent 10 years working for other North West practice facilities at Chester, Formby Hall and Warrington.

Sean has specialist expertise in club fitting and has been instrumental in setting up the new custom  fitting centre ‘Club Fit Hub’ which features launch monitor technology and full ranges of clubs from Taylormade, Nike, Callaway, Wilson and Mizuno.

He is also a member of Trackman University and is a trained Mind Factor Coach and NLP practitioner so he can help with the mental aspect of the game.

Manager Adam Maher said:  “We are delighted to welcome Sean to Liverpool Golf Centre he is a key addition to the team and will help us build on our status as one of the region’s best teaching academy’s and practice centres.

“The new fitting centre will hugely benefit our customers as custom fitted clubs can dramatically improve a golfer’s game. Golf today is constantly improving and innovating and we want to make new technology accessible to local golfers.

“A golf simulator has also been installed in the new studio which enables golfers to play virtual golf on courses all around the world.

“We are also midway through our second year in partnership with Elite Sports Academy which offers 16 – 18 year olds the opportunity to start a career in golf.

“One of the fundamental aims of the golf academy is to bring affordable golf to young people in the Merseyside area.

“Golfers who join the Elite Academy compete in the Intercollegiate Golf League against colleges such as Myerscough and Lee Westwood. Teams are transported to home and away fixtures as part of this scheme.

“Elite students recently took part in the Portuguese Intercollegiate Tour which attracted some of Europe’s most talented golfers.

“To make it accessible, the trip was subsidised and offered payment plans to offer our students the opportunity to play in a high profile event like this on some of the best courses in the Algarve.

“We are the only venue in Liverpool which can provide all the facilities needed to offer Elite’s golf programme including our high tech classrooms which enable students to undertake the academic side of their studies on site.

“At present we are in the process of placing students for the next intake in September and there are still some places available. Anyone interested should call us on 0151 487 3744.”
